Yoga is a holistic discipline, same as Japanese "Dou" or 「道」.
Its a sadhna; We have classified yogis in 3 types.
These belts changes every month depending on number of days a yogi practice Yoga.

Also known as ‘Kesari Belt Yogi’ or ‘Saffron Belt Yogi’
Saffron is a color of Courage and Sacrifice.
Its about sacrificing our desire and move towards higher consciousness.
Yogi who practice regular yoga minimum 20 days per month would be named as “Kesari Obi Yogi” and “Kesari Obi” will be given to “Kesari Obi Yogi”
WHITE BELT YOGI
More than 10 Days / Month
Also known as ‘Shwet Belt Yogi’ or ‘White Belt Yogi’
White is a color of Peace and Truth.
A journey started towards “peace” and “truth”.
This color is given to yogis who practice regular yoga more than 10 days per month and called “Shiro Obi Yogi”
GREEN BELT YOGI
Less than 10 Days / Month
Also known as ‘Hari Belt Yogi’ or ‘Green Belt Yogi’
Green is a color of fertility, growth and auspiciousness
This means the journey towards the nature started for beginners of yoga practice.
Regular practice of up to 10 days a month will make you “Midori Obi Yogi”.
DAN
Kesari Belt for 1 year
"Dan" in Japanese means step or degree. Yoga is a daily life activity. When a Kesari belt yogi continues his/her yogic sadhna for 1 year, he will be awarded 1 dan or "ichi dan". For 2 years, 2 dan and so on.
Interestingly, if yogi miss any year to be kesari belt even once, all the dan will be cancelled and he has to start this holistic journey again.
