Embassy of India, Tokyo Organizes Seminar on AYUSH and Ayurveda

Tokyo, Japan (July 24, 2024) – The Embassy of India in Tokyo successfully hosted a seminar on AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) with a particular focus on Ayurveda practices for enhancing immunity on July 23, 2024. The event brought together renowned experts, academicians, and enthusiasts to explore the multifaceted dimensions of Ayurveda.


Inaugural Remarks and Cultural Celebration

Ambassador Sibi George graced the occasion with his inaugural address, emphasizing the significance of Ayurveda in India's rich cultural heritage. In addition to his insightful remarks, the Ambassador also took the opportunity to felicitate Indian artisans whose traditional craftwork has been passed down through generations.



Ayurveda: A Holistic Approach

The seminar featured presentations by eminent experts, offering diverse perspectives on Ayurveda. Professor Haruo Sugiiura from Aichi Gakuin University provided academic insights, while Mr. Dai Ayusawa from Yokohama University delved into research-based findings. Ms. Aki Niikura from Ayurveda Beauty College explored the intersection of Ayurveda and wellness tourism.


Yoga and Pranayama: Keys to Mental Well-being

Ms. Yumi Kashiwagi, Director of Patanjali Japan Foundation, delivered a captivating presentation on the importance of yoga in daily life. She highlighted the transformative power of pranayama (breathing exercises) in achieving mental stability. The demonstration of the silver triangle caught the audience's eyes and made them curious to know more about the yogic lifestyle.
